Iowa City Man Wins Lottery Jackpot Thanks to Fortune Cookie

92-year-old Chuck Svatos scored an Iowa Lottery jackpot last month and claims a fortune cookie predicted it.

The Iowa City man won the second prize in the Lucky for Life drawing and earn $25,000 a year for life. Being that he's 92, Chuck went with the lump sum of $390,000.

Before buying his winning lotto ticket, Chuck had received a fortune that most would ignore. "It's hard to believe a fortune cookie, you can never believe them most of the time," he said.

The cookie's fortune said: "You will discover an unexpected treasure."

Chuck now carries that message in his wallet and plans on spending his winnings on traveling.
