Most of us look forward to the traditional decorating of the Christmas tree, but the internet says we've been doing it wrong all these years.

According to a person who works on the Rockefeller Christmas tree project, you're not supposed to start at the top and wrap around the tree, but start at the bottom and loop up and down until each side is filled.

People on social media who apparently do this say the vertical lights lets the lights sit closer to the tips of the branches for "maximum sparkle."
