Horses For Heroes

Operation Horses and Heroes is returning to Caledonia Acres, 12450 Coonhunters Road, Blue Grass, Iowa, August 2-4, 2019.

Operation Horses and Heroes is an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) program for Veterans and their families that incorporates horses for mental and behavioral health therapy and personal growth.
Why horses? While they are large and sometimes intimidating creatures, they are inherently honest and offer a pure non-judgmental relationship. Their feedback is immediate and accurate.

The program includes a variety of activities, ranging from simple horse care and grooming to powerful therapy sessions with the horses. There are many opportunities for personal growth and learning while proving ample time to bond with others who have shared similar experiences in their military careers.
