Not to sound too much like Captain Obvious, but flooding in the Quad Cities has caused some major headaches this year, and the river is still at a higher level than preferred.

And of course, there's the other thing left behind by the waters: potholes. Once flooding got into the streets, it was only a matter of time before a new batch cropped up.

I'm fortunate enough to have had a few that popped up near my house filled. But a lot of streets, particularly in Davenport, are only getting worse.

The good news is that the city is aware of it. And they have an explanation: their focus has been on the actual floodwaters. According to WQAD, Davenport was able to take care of most of the potholes reported around April and May...and then the next round of flooding hit.

Still, it's on their to-do list, and they encourage residents to continue reporting any potholes they spot.
