Listen to Harrison Ford’s Cockpit Recordings as He Buzzed a Boeing 737 With His Private Plane
Harrison Ford had a little incident at John Wayne Airport in California. He was bringing his private plane in for a landing, and he got cleared for one of the runways.
But instead, he landed on a taxiway that was parallel to the runway, buzzing right over a Boeing 737 that was waiting to take off. Harrison was even recorded by air traffic control saying, "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?"
Landing on a taxiway is a violation of FAA rules, and they're investigating. If there's punishment, it could range from a warning letter to a suspension of his license.
Harrison is regarded as an excellent pilot, although he's had a few scary incidents including a pretty bad crash in Santa Monica in 2015.
Harrison had to make an emergency landing on a golf course after the engine quit on the World War 2-era plane he was flying. He suffered a broken pelvis and ankle, as well as other injuries.
