Giants Pitcher Angrily Kicked Bat In Dugout, Hit Teammate in Leg
Carlos Rodon has had a decent season with the San Francisco Giants, but Tuesday night was not his finest hour by a longshot.
Frustrated, Rodon returned to the dugout in the fifth inning of a 7-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks and kicked a bat out of anger. Normal behavior from many MLB players, only this bat flew and struck Thairo Estrada in his leg.
Estrada was able to get up, but only with a limp.
The 26-year-old shortstop remained in the game, though you know that leg is going to be bruised for a few days.
Perhaps one of the bigger sources of his frustration, Christian Walker hit his 23rd homerun off of the first pitch he saw, breaking a 2-2 tie in the third.
