This weekend is Father's Day! So, what are you going to get the old man?

No one buys ties anymore. If he needs a tie he'll buy one himself.

His "Best Dad Ever" t-shirt hasn't been worn for years, so leave that one alone.

Peace and quiet! A fishing hole would be the perfect place to find it too!

It's the 5^th Annual Free Kids Fishing Derby! Saturday, June 18th, Doric Lodge 319 will be hosting a Kids Fishing Derby from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the East Pavilion in Sunset Marina located along the Illinois side of the Mississippi River at the end of 31st Avenue in Rock Island.

Yes, it's a "Kids Fishing Derby"...but it can also be looked at as a "Take Dad Fishing for Father's Day Derby" too.

You can bring children of all ages and all family members to participate in this event at no charge. All you need is a fishing pole and the rest of it will be provided at the event.

Not only does fishing bring the community together, but in this case, it is also dedicated to a wonderful cause. All donations from the Kids Fishing Derby will go to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Again, you just need a fishing pole. Bait will be provided and there will be a number of volunteers available to help where needed. Lunch will also be served after the event at no charge and there will be prizes awarded as well.
