A McDonald's employee shared a TikTok explaining the reasoning behind the wide, strong and square spoons you get when you order a McFlurry. Most people think it's a straw the first time.

We already know it's not a straw. It's strong, but the McFlurry isn't so thick you need extra support. She shows the true reason in 10 minutes or less.

So it's just a stirring thing? I guess that makes sense. It would take longer to clean the main piece, and throwing away a reusable stirrer just to give out a spoon isn't very cost effective.
