As we get closer to the dog days of summer and we start stocking up on treats to cool us down I find myself curious.  What's your favorite summertime treat?

Me?  I'm a fan of those Russian Quaaludes from Daiquiri Factory. They are cool, sweet, & refreshing and best of all they're filled with booze!  It's perfect.

Then again you can't go wrong with the classic Vodka Lemonades.  They are always a winner...although since I'm not a huge fan of vodka I've found that swapping it out with Captain Morgan is a nice spicy alternative.  Refreshing with a hint of that spiced rum to make it bite just a bit.  I highly recommend it.

But when it comes down to it...there's nothing wrong with a good ole fashion pasteurized pop ice bar.  You remember.  Popsicles.  Right.  It doesn't "HAVE" to include alcohol to be a tasty summer treat.  I mean, it'd be nice...but it doesn't have to.

In fact they're getting more & more inventive.  They've got these Skittle Popsicles that are incredible. They're sold in a pack of 10, 20 or 70 and you can find them at Dollar Generals, Dollar Trees or Walgreens around the QC.

But if you want to keep a little Daze in your Summer Days...maybe you want to try these Jack Daniels Popsicles Dwyer posted about last year.

3 simple steps:

  1. Pour 1/2 ounce of Jack Daniels into each popsicle mold. Pour 2 ounces of the flattened Coke into the mold
  2. Cover and insert wooden sticks.
  3. Freeze for 4-5 hours or overnight.

These frozen treats are guaranteed to make your Summer more pleasant.
