There's a deer stuck on the ice of the Mississippi near the East Village of Davenport.

After talking with emergency service dispatch and the DNR, they've said that there's nothing they can do to help the lil fella. They cited something called "Wasting Disease," which is a neurological disease that causes a spongy degeneration of the brain, emaciation, abnormal behavior, loss of bodily function, and death. Officials told us the deer could have the disease, so they can't help him. They have dispatched a boat in case any humans fall in trying to save it.

Please don't go out on the ice to save this guy, it's much too dangerous. Nature has a way of working this out and I am confident that he'll come back to land.

UPDATE: He made it off the ice. Listen to our full conversation about this from earlier this morning.
