This Week

Send CBW Over the Edge is a series of guest bartending events on The Mezz with the goal of raising money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley. For every new fundraising milestone hit a CBW server will rappel off of the downtown Davenport historical Blackhawk Hotel at BBBS’s annual “Over the Edge” event on Saturday, August 21st.

Each guest bartending event will feature different guests from the CBW culture, as well as live music. The current lineup is as follows:

Monday, July 19th, 6-8pm - Bobby Ray Bunch and Phil Young; Live music by Levi Craft
Wednesday, July 21st, 7-9pm - Bruce Grell; Live music by Avey Grouws Duo
Monday, July 26th, 6-8pm - Brain Olsen and Monique Jackson; Live music TBD
Monday, August 2nd, 6-8pm - Patrick and Renee Jewel; Live music TBD
Monday, August 9th, 6-8pm - TBD

Over the Edge will take place Saturday, August 21st at the Hotel Blackhawk in downtown Davenport. CBW’s rappelling time is TBD based on how quickly the funds are raised.

Brewery of the Month for July

Contrary Brewing in Muscatine, IA This riverside taproom just got a face lift you'll have to visit in person to check out. The new larger than life mural on the building is sure to be seen from the sidewalk, road, river and Illinois. Contrary has been around for a few years and made a name for their mix of crafted brews ranging in a variety of styles. They invent, they explore, and push the lines of flavors for your palate. You can find live music on the weekends, food trucks throughout the week, and they even offer a small menu of brewery bites out of their own kitchen. Ghost In Our Iowa Basement?

As a radio station, we have a lot of people here who have seen some scary stuff. Do you see any ghosts in these photos? I can't, but I also don't know what to look for.

This Isn't The First Face Caught On Camera Here!

In September of 2020 the band "Pit Lord" came to the building to shoot a music video. They shot it in the basement and for a split second in the recording, you can make out a face of what looks to be a woman. You can see that video here.

With a history of ghosts, it's safe to say the basement of our building is CREEPY!
