Jeannette 'The Black Widow' Lee, possibly the most popular billiards player ever, announced that she's been diagnosed stage four ovarian cancer.

Her family says she's been given about a year left to live.

In a statement from the family, they explained "The cancer has fully metastasized into her lymph nodes and the prognosis is dire."

"At this stage, her doctors say she has a few months to a year left to live."

Back in 2013, the APA was bringing a competition to the Quad Cities, which meant Jeannette would be in town. We reached out to her, and she agreed to come to the Rock n' Roll Mansion.

Jeannette talked with us on the show, and then we had a challenge for her, which she was happy to do. We made her shoot glass Christmas ornaments into the pockets of a pool table to see if she could do it without breaking any of them.

The 49-year-old was inducted into the Billiards Congress of America Hall of Fame in 2013, but was forced to stop playing the game at a high level years ago after a battle with scoliosis.

Lee's family says she will be undergoing multiple surgeries and treatments to combat the cancer in an attempt to slow the prognosis.
