Arsonists tend to be a bit off - aside from the fact that they're lighting stuff on fire that typically doesn't belong to them - but this guy from Melbourne is on a different level of "off" than most arsonists typically are.

According to police in Park Lane, Frankston, there were 12 fires in the area over the weekend that were determined to have been intentionally lit by an arsonist.

The fires included a loading dock on Keys Street, behind a school on Olsen Street, in the carpark of a shop on Young Street, outside a business on Nepean Highway, and in multiple trash cans around the area.

The unnamed suspect was arrested in Park Lane, on Sunday around 9pm. The 31-year-old was charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, multiple counts of lighting a fire in the open air, negligently dealing with the proceeds of crime and possessing something with the intent to damage property.

Police searched the man during his arrest, and ended up charging him with animal cruelty offenses after they allegedly discovered two live ducklings in his underwear during the arrest process.
