QC Arts Installs Cool New Sculptures All Around Town! Are There Any Near You?
You've, no doubt, been walking downtown in any of the Quad Cities and seen giant pieces of art surrounded by beautiful landscaping. Ever wonder how those sculptures get there?
Quad City Arts can be thanked (of course along with the city you're seeing it in). Since 2002, Quad City Arts has facilitated the leasing and installation of public sculptures.
All of the art you see in this program is from Midwestern artists. The sculptures are leased and on public display for a one-year. Then you can purchase it...the city may purchase it or it can be replaced with a new sculpture.
As soon as all the pieces are installed you'll be able to see a map of each piece on Quad City Arts’ website www.quadcityarts.com/public-sculpture.
The new installs are going up now. Here's a complete list of new sculptures and where you'll be able to see them.
