12% of Men Think They Could Win a Point Off Serena Williams
More than 1,700 adults were asked if they thought they could win a point off Serena Williams, assuming they were playing their "best tennis."
And 12% of men said they could. That's about one-in-eight. Only 3% of women thought they could.
14% of men and 10% of women didn't know if they could, while 74% of men and 87% of women said they didn't think they could win a point off of Serena. Which is really the correct answer.
For what it's worth, Serena accidentally hitting a ball into the net or outside the lines would give you a point. But still.
Technically, they didn't stipulate how long you'd be playing... and obviously, the longer you play, the more likely it is for her to misplay a ball. But it sounds like they mean a point within a single game, as opposed to a set or a match.
A "point" is the result of a single serve. Four points can win you a "game". Six games wins you a "set," and two sets wins you the "match." So if that's the case, Serena could shut you down within just a few minutes. She wouldn't have to play flawlessly for hours. Sorry, guys.
