A group of three teens in New York City went viral after taking the train for a joyride over the weekend, and luckily enough for us, posted a video to Instagram.

The suspects stole the R train from a storage yard while it was being stored, using MTA transit keys to get into the car in the first place, the NY Post reported.

After breaking in, the thieves used black markers to cover the security cameras, but then the dummies used Instagram to let people see them taking the train for a ride.

Officials say it's not totally clear how long they drove it, or how far they went, but parts of their trip were on active train lines.

According to Daily News, who saw the original video, they kept warning each other to keep their faces concealed.

“Cover your faces,” one of the offenders reportedly warned. “Cover your faces.”

Daily News reports that the train went through one local station and passed at least one signal.

They may have passed by another in-service train - Daily News says the video shows one of the thieves yelling "train" before telling the others to check the radio to see if they were spotted.

Eventually, the train made its way back to the layup tracks where it was stolen from. MTA workers saw the train wasn't parked where they left it and called the police around 10:20pm on Sunday.
