Downtown Davenport’s Beloved Tiphanie’s to Close After 12 Years of Celebrations
After a dozen incredible years, Tiphanie’s in downtown Davenport has announced it will close its doors.
A Tough Goodbye
Owner Tiphanie Cannon shared on Facebook: “After 12 unforgettable years, Tiphanie’s is closing its doors. This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to say and do. … But despite every effort and negotiation, we couldn’t reach a place that allowed us to stay.” The last service will be on Saturday, November 8, with doors closing for good at 9 p.m.
More Than Just a Restaurant
Tiphanie’s wasn’t simply another dining spot—it was a vibrant community hub. Located at 210 E 2nd St. in Davenport, it offered full-service lunches and dinners, artisanal desserts, and an event space capable of hosting birthdays, engagements, themed parties, speed-dating nights and more. The website also notes that Tiphanie’s catered corporate events and holiday functions, with a dedicated party room and menu options.
Tiphanie herself brought national flair: she appeared on the Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge, flying to Los Angeles to compete alongside bakers from across the country. Her presence and that recognition elevated the local café into something special.
Gratitude and Reflection
In her goodbye post, Tiphanie thanked her customers, staff and family:
“To our customers who became friends and family: thank you. You celebrated birthdays, breakups, engagements, random Tuesdays and everything in between with us. You made this place matter.” “To my staff — past and present — you are the soul of this restaurant. … I love you more than you know.”“This isn’t just a business closing. It’s the end of a chapter that shaped my life. I don’t know exactly what comes next, but I do know I’m grateful, heartbroken, and unbelievably proud of what we created here.”
What It Means for the Quad Cities
Tiphanie’s was more than a place to dine; it was a place to celebrate life’s moments big and small. From everyday brunches with friends to elaborate wedding parties and romantic dates, the atmosphere was always perfect and festive. This closure leaves a gap in Davenport’s downtown scene and the local culinary event space.
