Video has been released of a terrifying circus accident from February of 2017 involving performer Nik Wallenda and several other acrobats.

The accident occurred as Wallenda and and seven others were practicing their high-wire stunt the Eight Person Pyramid at the Circus Sarasota Big Top just three days before it opened for it's 20th season. Wallenda, the famed circus performer and nine-time Guinness World Record holder, was the anchor at the bottom of the pyramid.

The five-minute video captured by an unknown bystander shows a woman starting to lose her balance at the 2:50 mark, which sends her and five others crashing to the ground.

Several people sustained serious injuries including Wallenda's aunt, cousin and sister. Nik and two others were able to grab onto the wire and escaped with only minor bumps and bruises.

Nik released a video talking about the incident yesterday on his Instagram page where he talks about how painful it is to relive the events that had occurred, and how he's been struggling with fear for the first time in his life.
