Taco Bell is Killing the Quesalupa Again
Does Taco Bell pay attention to anything that their fans say? I mean come on, first they took away the potatoes, then the Mexican Pizza, then the loaded grillers, then it was the Quesaritos, and seemingly every other menu item that we loved.
Sure, they brought back the potatoes, but that was more about the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. How much more do we have to lose before we finally stand up to them?
Taco Bell announced they're removing the item from its menus later this month.
A spokesperson told Thrillist the bad news, saying you better buy it now if you want it.
"Fans are encouraged to satisfy their Quesalupa craving before it leaves Taco Bell’s menu later this month," the spokesperson said.
Fans of the dish will be disappointed of course, but Taco Bell made sure to point out that they were "Very clear" that the Quesalupa was only around for a "Limited Time Only" when it was added to menus back in March.
"Behind the scenes in our Test Kitchen, my team is constantly hard at work ideating on how to enhance the food experience for our guests," Liz Matthews, Taco Bell’s global chief food innovation officer, said in a statement at the time. "Our customers raved about the cheese-filled Chalupa shell in its first debut, so when the Quesalupa began its return journey back to our nationwide menus, we knew we needed to perfect that cheesy experience — one that will be consistent for every guest and every bite."
In a post of almost bad taste, not even a week ago, the company shared a video they helped make out of a guy's story of driving across the country to try the Quesalupa when they were testing it.
That's just bad timing.
