Semi Drags Sedan Down Illinois Highway, Driver Identified As East Moline Resident
A tractor-trailer was captured on video dragging a sedan under its trailer while it drove down an Illinois highway.
The video was shot by a driver who pulled up to the mobile accident that happened Tuesday on Interstate 294 just outside of Chicago.
Illinois State Police says the driver of the black 2005 Honda Accord was changing lanes when the car somehow wedged itself under the passenger side of the trailer.
The semitrailer dragged the Honda Accord before eventually coming to a stop.
Video footage shows the semitrailer appearing to keep up with the speed of other drivers. Toward the end of the video clip, the driver of the sedan can be seen waving out of the window that's been cut into by the bottom of the trailer.
Illinois State Police identified the semitrailer driver as Mohamed Yousif, 52, of East Moline, Illinois, and the Honda driver as Laylisha A. Gardner, 19, of Evanston, Illinois.
No injuries were reported. The State Police did not make mention of further charges being pressed.
