Two drivers were hospitalized Monday afternoon after a crash involving a North Scott school bus and a pickup truck in rural Scott County.

North Scott School Bus Involved In Intersection Crash Monday Afternoon

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were called to the intersection of 270th Street and 60th Avenue around 3:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision between a school bus and a pickup truck.

Investigators say a North Scott School District bus was traveling east on 270th Street with a driver and two students on board when it entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound pickup truck.

Vehicles End Up In Ditch After Impact

Authorities said the force of the crash sent both the bus and pickup truck into the northeast ditch near the intersection.

The drivers of both vehicles were transported by ambulance to MercyOne Genesis Hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.

The two students on the bus were evaluated by emergency responders at the scene and later released without needing to be taken to the hospital.

Investigation Continues As Charges Remain Pending

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office says the crash remains under investigation, and possible charges are still pending at this time.

Officials have not released the names of those involved while the investigation is ongoing.

Several agencies assisted at the scene, including Scott Emergency Communications Center, Medic EMS, and the Dixon Fire Department.
