School nurses are a godsend for parents who have kids who have medications they need to take after meals or at different points in the day. It's someone to manage those drugs during the day when the parent can't stay on top of a 7-year-old to take their insulin. It does mean, however, that there are a lot of drugs in the care of those nurses, and apparently, not everybody can handle that - and some come across some drugs of their own.

A school nurse at the Godwin High School in Henrico County, Virginia was arrested on felony drug charges right in the school parking lot last week, according to officers.

According to the report, a Henrico Police officer pulled over a vehicle for an expired vehicle inspection at around 8:45am Thursday as it drove down Ridgefield Parkway. When the officer flipped on his lights, the car pulled into the Godwin High School parking lot.

Officers say they ended up searching the vehicle belonging to the school's nurse, 47-year-old Leslie Minter Johnson, and came across a stash of methamphetamine, Suboxone, Xanax and cocaine in the car.

A Henrico Police spokeswoman said that they have charged Nurse Johnson is charged with possession of a schedule III drug, possession of a schedule IV drug, and two counts of possession of a schedule I or II drug.

Johnson was also arrested in January for a petit larceny charge, court records indicate.

Johnson is being held at Henrico Jail West without bond, with a court date scheduled for October 19th.
