Mark your calendars for a spirited display of friendly rivalry as the Rock Island Arsenal hosts its annual Army vs. Navy flag football game at Memorial Field on Friday, Dec. 13. Game-time activities kick off at 2 p.m., and admission is free.
Pre-Game Festivities and Food Trucks
Football fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for seating and bundle up for the December weather as they cheer for their favorite team. Pre-game activities begin at 11:30 a.m., with food trucks serving a variety of delicious options until supplies run out. Whether you're rooting for Army or Navy, the event promises camaraderie and community fun for all attendees.
Access Requirements for Attendees
While the event is free, attendees must have proper access to the Rock Island Arsenal installation. Passes can be obtained at the Visitor Welcome Center, located at the Moline gate. Visitors will need a Real ID (or two forms of photo ID) and knowledge of their social security number to obtain a pass, which will be valid for a year.
Cannon Fire During Opening Ceremonies
Spectators and nearby residents should be aware that cannon fire will occur during the opening ceremonies at approximately 2 p.m. This display celebrates the Army vs. Navy flag football game and honors the storied rivalry leading up to Saturday’s 125th Army-Navy football game between the Army Golden Knights and Navy Midshipmen.
