Iowa, Illinois Under Winter Weather Advisory

No, you did not stumble upon a story from February. Winter is not done with the Quad Cities quite yet. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Quad Cities from 4am Monday morning until 4pm Monday afternoon.

Rain will switch to sleet which will switch to snow Monday with most sleet and snow accumulations occurring along and north of Interstate 80, with moderate to heavy wet snow possible north of highway 30. The heaviest snow will fall early Monday, likely impacting the Monday morning commute.

Total sleet and snow accumulations could be from 2-5 inches with winds gusting to 35 mph, reducing visibility to a half mile at times.

Now while this may send shivers down your spine, don't expect it to stick around long. Temps will be back in the 40's on Tuesday and above 50 the rest of the week. But with one more (hopefully only one more) wintery blast on the way for the Quad Cities, maybe it's best to start spring break week curled up in front of the fire watching one more snowfall.
