Morning Sex Might Be the Secret to Career Success, Says New Study

Forget coffee. According to a new study, the real secret to feeling more energized and productive at work might just be morning sex. Researchers from ZipHealth found that people who get intimate before heading to the office report higher levels of motivation, focus, and even job satisfaction.

“Full-time American workers who have sex before work in the morning have the highest levels of productivity (71%), task completion (70%), focus (58%), motivation (57%), and job satisfaction (54%),” the study authors shared in their October 2025 report.

So yes—apparently, getting busy before getting busy works.

Better Mornings, Bigger Paychecks

The benefits don’t stop with mood boosts and sharper focus. The study also found that morning sex could be linked to career advancement. “Nearly 1 in 5 American workers who have morning sex (19%) said they’ve received a promotion in the past year,” researchers said. “Over half (51%) said they’ve gotten a raise—more than any other group.”

That’s right—it might actually pay to start your day with a little extra love.

Who’s Doing It the Most?

ZipHealth surveyed 1,000 U.S. workers across all age groups, and surprisingly, older generations are leading the charge. Baby Boomers and Gen Xers over 45 are the most likely to have morning sex (20%), followed by millennials (17%) and Gen Z (16%).
The industries most likely to indulge? Marketing takes the top spot, followed by hospitality, manufacturing, construction, and entertainment.

Happier, Healthier, More Confident

Beyond job perks, morning sex also came with major mental health boosts. “Americans who have morning sex report the highest levels of happiness, confidence, and emotional stability,” the study found. They experience “68% higher overall happiness, 63% greater emotional stability, 58% stronger confidence, and 49% better stress management.”

Researchers summed it up perfectly: “In a culture obsessed with productivity hacks, perhaps one of the simplest and most enjoyable is already in the bedroom.”
