Calm Under Pressure: Water Breaks, Broadcast Continues
Just after 4:15 a.m., Jaquith’s water broke in the newsroom. Rather than rushing to the hospital, she took her spot behind the anchor desk and proceeded to co-host the full morning broadcast. With composure, professionalism, and even a bit of humor, Olivia kept viewers informed while quietly preparing to welcome her first child.
“She managed to eat a yogurt mid-show,” joked co-anchor Julia Dunn. “Only Olivia could handle labor and a live broadcast at the same time.”
A Mother, A Marathoner, A Journalist
A proud Niskayuna native, Olivia returned to the Capital Region last spring to join the CBS6 team. Known for her dedication, she famously announced her pregnancy after completing the Disney Princess Half-Marathon in Florida with her sister.
News Director Stone Grissom praised her resilience: “From her on-air announcement to her marathon and now anchoring while in labor, Olivia has shown nothing but strength and heart. We are so excited for her and her husband, Tyn, as they welcome their baby boy.”
CBS6's Summer Baby Boom Grows
Olivia's baby becomes the second CBS6 baby born this week. Fellow anchor JT Fetch and his wife Samantha also recently celebrated the arrival of their first child, marking a heartwarming baby boom at the station.
While Olivia has taken a brief break from reporting, her unforgettable morning show moment is sure to be remembered—and retold—for years to come.
