Missouri Man Charged, Accused of Having Sex With Train Seat on MetroLink
Deangelo Antoine Covington, a 38-year-old resident of Spanish Lake, has found himself in hot water once again. Just a week after his release from jail for a series of sex offenses, Covington has been charged with first-degree sexual misconduct, this time for allegedly having sex with a MetroLink train seat.
Spanish Lake Man Arrested for Engaging in “Relations” with a MetroLink Seat
St. Louis County prosecutors on Thursday laid down the charge, a class A misdemeanor, and Covington is currently cooling his heels in the county jail under a $20,000 cash-only bond. Adding insult to, well, further insult, the courts have also ruled that if Covington manages to post bond, he is to stay far away from the MetroLink.
What The MetroLink Driver Witnessed
According to a probable cause statement from the St. Louis County Police, the bizarre incident occurred on June 7. A MetroLink driver had parked the train at the Lambert airport station and briefly stepped off. Upon his return, the driver was greeted by the sight of Covington allegedly engaging in intimate relations with a train seat, with his genitals on full display.

Rather than halt the train and cause a scene, the driver continued the route, while Covington continued his, um, “activity” until he finally de-boarded at the Hanley station. The entire episode was captured on video surveillance, providing incontrovertible evidence of this unlikely tryst.
Not His First Arrest
As if this wasn’t enough, Covington was also arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly assaulting a nurse at the jail. Details on this charge are still forthcoming, but it appears that Covington is quite the overachiever when it comes to run-ins with the law.
The timing of this latest offense is particularly eyebrow-raising, coming just a week after Covington's release from jail on May 30. His freedom was part of a plea agreement involving four sex offenses. These offenses included a felony count of sexual misconduct involving a child, which was amended to a misdemeanor, and several other counts of sexual misconduct and abuse. In one of the more troubling instances, he admitted to exposing himself to a child under 15 years old in March 2023.
Despite these offenses, Associate Circuit Judge Nicole Zelweger had sentenced him to time served and ordered his release on May 30. This latest incident suggests that Covington's proclivities for misconduct haven’t waned.
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Missouri
Chris King, a spokesperson for the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office, expressed the prosecutor’s intent to hold Covington accountable. “Missouri law does not offer very severe ranges of punishment for unwanted sexual conduct that involves no physical contact or touch of an adult outside the clothing,” King noted. “That said, we have video evidence of this new alleged misconduct and intend to hold the defendant fully accountable.”
As for Covington’s future travel plans, it’s safe to say that the MetroLink is off the itinerary. An initial appearance for the latest charge has not yet been set, but it’s clear that this is one train ride Covington won't soon forget.
