Missouri Man Charged For Allegedly Stabbing Panda Express Worker
A 33-year-old man from Missouri, Phillip Person, has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action after an altercation at a Panda Express restaurant in a St. Louis suburb.
Throwing Punches Over Food
The disagreement was reportedly over the quality of food, which led to an employee being stabbed and another being punched.
Law enforcement authorities were called to the scene around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, following a report of an attack. Upon arrival, they discovered a male employee who had sustained a stab wound.
The Altercation
According to the information gathered from the restaurant workers, one man was enraged over the quality of his food, which had been provided free of charge, and he demanded a refund.
When the staff refused to refund the complimentary meal, the suspect allegedly began throwing food around. As an employee attempted to disarm the man by knocking the food out of his hand, he was punched in the head.
From Punching To Stabbing
Following the initial confrontation, the restaurant manager and another staff member were able to escort the man outside of the establishment, but that's when the man allegedly stabbed the staff member in the lower back.
The injured employee was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released.
Police officials state that the man fled the scene in a work truck, but he was later apprehended and arrested. During the arrest, a knife was reportedly found and has since been entered into evidence.
