Watch Kirk Hammett Trip on His Wah Pedal
He was nearing the end of his solo on “Moth Into Flame” when he appeared to put his weight onto his wah-wah pedal, which forced its rain cover to slip, sending him into a clumsy collapse from which he quickly recovered, laughing.
You can watch the moment below.
“Ummm -- I slipped on my wet wah pedal,” Hammett wrote alongside the clips on Instagram, soon after the show was over. “It rained so much I felt like I was playing guitar in the shower."
Metallica recently kicked off the latest European leg of their Worldwired global tour, launched in 2016 to support the release of their most recent album Hardwired … To Self-Destruct. With dates now confirmed until Nov. 2, it’s rumored the road trip will continue into 2020.
In March, bassist Robert Trujillo predicted the band’s 11th album would be made within the next two years.
“We have a zone we call the Tuning Room, which is a space where we can jam and warm up before the show,” he said. “We're always in there coming up with ideas and you may get a few seconds of an idea but everything is recorded, always. And then, of course, at home, everyone has got ideas. … This time around, I think we'll be able to jump on it a lot quicker and jump in the studio and start working.”
