You may see some unique Cokes in stores.

Hi, I'm Sarah and my blood type is Coca-Cola. I drink more of it and Diet Coke than I care to admit.

Recently, in stores and gas stations, you may have noticed that there are uniquely colored caps on Coca-Cola products. They're yellow. Why?

The Reason

This week is Passover for the Jewish community and the yellow cap marks a soda that is kosher-friendly, meaning it's sweetened with real cane sugar instead of corn syrup. The caps are stamped with 'OUP', which is the Passover certification symbol of the Orthodox Union, according to Business Insider.

This isn't anything new. Coca-Cola has been doing this for years but it does only come around during Passover.

Corn syrup is refrained from eating during Passover because many Jews don't eat things categorized as 'chametz', which are leavened foods made with leavened ingredients (barley, oats, rye) and foods categorized as 'kitniyot' (which are legumes and things like corn). Popular Insta foodie Kevin Escalera posted a viral reel reminding everyone that is kosher or doesn't like corn syrup that now is the time to stock up on the yellow cap Coke.
