Iowa Is Home To One Of The Least Stressed Cities In The U.S.
We're all stressed out about many things. Money, health, family, work, and many more things. In today's society, it's hard to really see the silver lining in the cloud; the light at the end of the tunnel. You know, all of those other analogies about it getting better.
But for some of us in cities across the U.S., we're more stressed than people in other cities in America. You're not entirely wrong if you think that Midwest living is less stressful. But some cities in the U.S. on either coast are more stress-free.
A new study from WalletHub shows the most and least stressed cities in the U.S. Only two Iowa cities made this list, but they were lower on this list which is a great thing. Cedar Rapids made the top 15 least stressed cities in the U.S.
Cedar Rapids, IA Is The 15th Least Stressed City In The U.S.
The latest list from WalletHub shows us 2023's Most & Least Stressed Cities in the U.S. In order to find out which cities are the most and least stressed, WalletHub compared 182 cities, including the 150 most populated U.S. cities (plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state), across four key dimensions:
- Work Stress
- Financial Stress
- Family Stress
- Health & Safety Stress
WalletHub found that Cedar Rapids is the 168th most stressed city or the 15th least stressed city. In the four key dimensions, Cedar Rapids placed low in all of them. Cedar Rapids actually landed 1st as the city with the most affordable housing.
The only other city in Iowa, Des Moines, wasn't far behind in that category landing in 3rd. Overall, Des Moines was deemed the 126th most stressed city or the 56th least stressed city.
The most stressed city is Cleveland, OH and the least stressed city is South Burlington, VT. See where other cities landed below.
