Decorah Woman Accused Of Lacing Woman’s Lasagna To Cause A Miscarriage
An Iowa woman is behind bars after an attempt to terminate a pregnancy.
36-year-old Amber Snow is facing multiple charges after authorities say she tried to end another woman's pregnancy.
Investigators say Snow gave the pregnant woman and her family a family-sized pan of lasagna laced with oxycodone, making the delivery 3 days after Christmas. For whatever unknown reason, Snow intended for the pregnant woman to miscarry after eating it.
The laced lasagna didn't work the way Snow intended and the pregnant woman did not miscarry, the fetus survived the ordeal.
Police believe Snow did not act alone and had a co-conspirator that helped her lace the lasagna and deliver it. A second arrest has not been made but is expected.
After being booked into jail earlier this week, she's being held in the Winneshiek County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond. As you can probably guess, Snow is facing a litany of charges, including: administering harmful substances, intention to terminate a human pregnancy without the consent of the pregnant person, and (an aggravated misdemeanor) child endangerment knowingly acting in a manner that created a substantial risk to a child or minor’s physical, mental or emotional health or safety.
She's also faced charges including: delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of administering a harmful substance to an adult, and two counts of administering a harmful substance to a juvenile.
As for the family, there's no report on if any of them suffered effects from the laced lasagna.
