Iowa Woman Holding Knife Threw Soda At Culver’s Employee
We thought incidents like these occurred in Florida, but little did we know, it's happening right here in the Quad Cities too.
Davenport Woman Remains in Custody After Alleged Incident at Culver's
Laryn Ingram-Williams, 27, faces serious charges, including a felony for going armed with intent and an aggravated misdemeanor for child endangerment, following an incident at Culver’s on 3400 W. Kimberly Road. The altercation, which began as a complaint about cold food, occurred around 11 a.m. on Sunday.
What Happened Exactly?
According to arrest affidavits, Davenport Police responded to a disturbance call at the restaurant. Upon arrival, officers learned that Ingram-Williams had left the scene. They interviewed a Culver's employee, who recounted a frightening series of events.
The employee reported that Ingram-Williams entered the restaurant, complaining about cold food. She allegedly began screaming, using profanity, and demanding her food be remade. While holding her infant, she threw two cups of soda at the employee.
The situation escalated when Ingram-Williams started pushing terminals on the counter, causing her child to be flung around, according to the affidavits. She then left the restaurant, placed her child in her car, and returned with a large kitchen knife. Ingram-Williams attempted to re-enter the restaurant, holding the knife menacingly. The employee had to forcibly keep the door shut to prevent her entry.
What Happened After That Fiasco?
The victim has since requested a criminal no-contact order against Ingram-Williams.
Police reviewed video footage of the incident and interviewed witnesses. They also contacted Ingram-Williams by phone, but she declined to provide a statement or meet with officers.
As of Tuesday, Ingram-Williams was held at Scott County Jail on a $12,000 cash-only bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 2 in Scott County Court.
