This House For Sale in Iowa City Looks Like The One in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Like most people, I enjoy checking things out on the internet that I am not only NOT in the market for, but also that I can't afford. I guess I should be doing something more productive with my time, but TikTok is too loud and curse word laiden for me to play around my kids.
Zillow
Zillow is a great place to pass the time if you want to play in the land of make-believe. It's fun to take a look inside people's houses to snoop and judge them on design choices.
This one house struck me as familiar and I had to do some research.
There is a house for sale in Iowa City that resembles the house in the classic movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Remember when he goes over to his best friend, Cameron Frye's house?
Then Cameron starts bagging on his father for being a jerkwad. Then as they have the prized 1958 Ferrari 250 Spyder up on jacks going in reverse to try and take the miles off, Cameron kicks it and it does a crazy fall out of the back of the house and into the ravine 20 feet below.
Well, this house ISN'T, but it could be.
The original Cameron Frye house was in the Chicago area located at 370 Beech Street in Highland Park, Illinois, and sold for $1.06 million in 2014.
This one is in Iowa City, has 1,836 square feet on a .93 acre lot, with 3 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, and is currently listed as "contingent" for $410,000.
