Indoor Air At College House Party Tested Positive For Alcohol
An off-campus frat party at American University had so much booze being consumed that the air inside tested positive for alcohol.
Police found approximately 70 people, aged 17 to 20, were packed into the split-level house. They were called to the neighborhood after residents complained about loud music coming from the building.
Responding officers knocked on the door but were ignored by partygoers who just looked at them through the windows. Eventually the hosts answered and allowed the cops inside.
The place was littered with trash bags, beer cans, liquor bottles and the basement floor was covered in spilled booze. The air inside registered a .01 on a breathalyzer.
Eight people had locked themselves in the bathroom and another jumped out of a second story window to avoid the cops. The officers breathalyzed the attendees before letting them go home.
Jeffrey Becker, Ashton Acosta, Anthony Santana, Kevin Alkinburg, Matthew Berger and Tristan Ralph, all 20 years old, confessed to living in the house. Each was charged with 126 counts of allowing underage possession of alcohol and furnishing alcohol to a minor.
