My family loves their internet. I have two boys who are really into video games and their iPads, and my wife's a teacher, so she's been doing a lot of video-conferencing lately.

Of course, when the coronavirus hit, we were all home using the internet at the same time ... and so were many of our neighbors. The cable internet service we had just couldn't keep up with demand and our internet speed took a dive.

So, you can imagine how excited I was to learn that MetroNet high speed fiber optic internet service was available. We got it last month and love everything about it, from the high-speed internet service that isn't affected if all my neighbors are online, too, to the excellent customer service. Their services encompass internet access, television/cable/streaming and phone service, and they can keep up with the increased demand over time.

As a company rep told me:

Collective internet traffic for our customers has risen 31 percent over the last 30 days. In that same timeframe, despite the increased demand, only 62 percent of our network’s capacity has been required. MetroNet is also on pace to double its internet capacity within the next 6 months, an initiative that was underway prior to the increased demand caused by the pandemic remote work and education requirements.

The installer was really thorough. I'm one of those guys who asks lots of questions, and he took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and how it works. (It’s crazy that the fiber optic technology they use is a strand of glass that’s about as thick as a strand of hair.) We talked about where exactly everything should go, and he had some great suggestions on improving our overall service. Before, internet access was weak and iffy in my upstairs bedroom, but now, I can do a little work or browsing from the comfort of my bed.

I was especially impressed that the installer tested the internet speed before he left and when he noticed it was slower than it should be, he troubleshooted it and made sure everything was correct before he left.

So, if you're ready to experience the MetroNet difference, just click here to get started. You'll be glad you did!
