Fyre Fest’s Billy McFarland Announces Tell-All Podcast From Prison
Fraudster and co-host of Fyre Fest, Billy McFarland is coming up on the 1/3 mark of his 6-year sentence from the fraudulent festival. Perhaps in an attempt to stay relevant, he just announced a tell-all podcast.
The first episode was released yesterday.
McFarland says he created the podcast from prison, using his one phone call a day to record for 15 minutes at a time.
The podcast was announced last week on McFarland's Instagram account with a trailer consisting of stock prison footage.
“This is inmate number 91186054, otherwise known as Billy McFarland, the founder of Fyre festival,” McFarland says. “I’m currently serving my 29th month in federal prison, in FCI Elkton, in Ohio. This is my story.”
Talking to Daily Mail, he said he'll “start from the beginning and go through every step and just kind-of keep it raw and centred and not have an agenda for what’s being told. I'm not going to hide behind my mistakes, I’m going to share everything that happened.”
This isn't the first time the festival's fraudulent failure been dove into, Netflix did a special on the event last year.
It has been reported that any profit made from the show will go towards the $26 million in restitution he owes his victims.
The show is called Dumpster Fyre and is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
