How far would you go to keep a city from cutting down a tree? Would you write a letter, make some phone calls, or maybe form a picket line? This woman decided to hold a wedding ceremony.

Karen Cooper in Fort Myers, Florida was upset when she learned that the city planned to remove a giant 100-year-old ficus tree. She then devised a plan to save the tree.

Over the weekend she held a mass wedding at the Snell Family Park where she and several other women donned white gowns. Each bride in turn read vows to the centennial tree.

"If they cut down this tree, I'm going to be a widow," Cooper said.
