A "heavily intoxicated" Florida man was arrested on Saturday night for calling 911 over his girlfriend. She wanted some Sour Patch Kids.

The arrest affidavit from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office doesn't say why 37-year-old Joshua Larson went straight to 911 for the emergency candy run, which they say took place around 11:45 pm Saturday night.

When asked about the call by a sheriff deputy who showed up by a sheriff's deputy, Larson "smiled and walked away" from the officers who showed up at his house near St. Petersburg. The affidavit doesn't say if any deputies brought the Sour Patch Kids, but I think we can safely assume they did not.

The deputies then tried to put him in handcuffs, but Larson allegedly started sort of a struggle, to which police responded by deploying an "electronic control weapon" which I assume is basically just fancy paperwork talk for them tasing him.

Just so we're on the same page, if he would've just DoorDashed the candy it would've cost him about $5.

Charged with misuse of the 911 system and obstruction, Larson was booked into the county jail, from which he was freed yesterday afternoon on his own recognizance.

As part of his release conditions, Larson has been required by a judge not to consume alcohol and has been outfitted with an alcohol monitoring device.

Larson was also arrested back in November for allegedly shoving his girlfriend and knocking her phone from her hand during an altercation in their Clearwater apartment. Prosecutors then decided not to pursue charges of domestic battery. It's not clear if the victim, in this case, is the same girlfriend who wanted Sour Patch Kids.
