Yesterday, after crashing a stolen BMW, a Florida Man has been arrested, but he's denying that he stole the car, according to an arrest affidavit from Volusia Sheriff.

Investigators allege that 36-year-old Calvin Johnson took the 2018 BMW convertible while the owner of the vehicle was walking their dog at Ormond Beach’s Centennial Park. Police say Calvin rifled through the car and found the keys in the car's cupholder.

Shortly thereafter, Johnson was spotted driving over 100mph through the city, when he crashed the car in a single-vehicle accident. People driving nearby pulled him from the toatled car.

When cops arrived at the crash scene, Johnson told them that he didn't steal the car, he said that he was "teleported into the vehicle."

He also made a reference to the X-Men series, and then told the police he was glad they came, telling them "You saved me from the aliens."

Johnson has been charged with grand theft auto, a felony, and driving on a license that was suspended in 2019. Bond has been set at $2650.

Johnson has an extensive criminal record, with a history including trespass, obstruction, loitering, resisting, and grand theft for the theft of a $1500 bicycle. When asked why he stole the bike, Johnson said "I just felt like it."
