Jeff Rusk, Business Owner and St Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshall, Stops By
One of our favorite Bar owners is this years' Grand Marshal of the St. Patrick's Day Parade. Jeff Rusk, The affable Irisman will leave his perch at the corner of Steve's Old Time in Rock Island and lead the revelry in the only Bi-State parade celebration in the country Saturday, March 14th.
Rusk joined The Dwyer and Michaels Show to talk about the many years he worked closely with the St. Patrick Society, even pre-dating his years as a bar owner in Rock Island. This years' celebration marks 40 years, and it's still the only parade in the US that covers 2 states (3 if "drunken' counts as a state.)
Rusk also runs Looney's, a small Chicago-style eatery in Downtown Rock Island, featuring a delicious thin-crust Chicago pizza, and Italian beef sandwich that we can personally attest to being authentic. Maybe when there's finally a St. Joseph's Day parade Jeff can be the Grand Marshall for that too!
Wherever your shillelagh lands this St. Patrick's Day, the Parade on Staurday is a great way to start!
St Patrick's Day Parade
The parade itself kicks off on Saturday, March 14th, at 11:30am from 23rd Street and 4th Avenue, and will continue through the District to the Centennial Bridge, where it will cross into Davenport up to 3rd Street, where it will end near the River Center.
