Do you ever feel like you're stuck in a rut? Sometimes it feels like the wheels are spinning and you're not going anywhere.  It's the same ole, same ole, all the time.    Science says that's normal.

Turns out we're not built to keep the same routine for years on end.  We need to change up things every so often.

In a study of 2,000 adults, a new survey says that the average person needs at least ONE change in their life every seven months.  And 30% of people say they need some sort of reset every one to six months.

Some resets are small . . . like changing a workout routine . . . but others are significant, and they happen less frequently.  Some examples of those include:

1.  People want to refresh their diet every 12 months.

2.  People want to change their hairstyle every 14 months.

3.  People want to get a new car every seven years.

4.  People are looking for something new in their relationships every eight years.

5.  And the average person is looking for a change at work every eight years . . . which, if you look at job reports, apparently synched to 2021 for ALL Americans.

If you can’t seem to get out of a rut, try shaking things up physically. If you’re into athletics, take a few weeks off and do something completely different. Or start doing regular workouts in order to give your body a needed change of pace. Just beware that if you hate working out, it won’t really help—you have to work at it! Exercise helps reduce stress, keep your weight down, and make you feel better about yourself.

Starting new habits can be overwhelming, so don’t take on too much at once. Start by swapping one bad habit for a good one. For example, if you’re always late, set your alarm 15 minutes earlier to give yourself more time in the morning. If you usually snack out of boredom, only eat when you feel hungry and choose healthy snacks over junk food. Gradually build other good habits into your life—one at a time.

Turns out if you feel stuck...you just have to change a little at a time.

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!

Craft Breweries in the Quad Cities Area

We're very lucky to live in an area with such an amazing, thriving "craft beer scene". You'll be able to find everything you could want.

Not sure what you want? That's ok. The bartenders at these establishments are very well versed and can guide you through a wonderland of Ales and Lagers.

From "coffee infused" to "riff infused".

From "pale ales" to "peanut butter porters".

Fruity, Sour, Hoppy, Malty, Crisp, Crushable beers in all shapes and sizes.

Crowlers, Growlers, Cans & Kegs...the Quad Cities Craft Beer scene has it all.

And of course...a great beer isn't complete unless it's paired with some amazing food. Whether it's made in the breweries kitchen or in the food truck in the parking lot...brewers know that people love food with their beer.

Take a look at the 19 Quad Cities Area craft breweries!
