Golf To Raise Funds For Davenport Firefighter’s Son’s Medical Expenses

The Davenport Association of Professional Firefighters is looking for the community's help in raising funds for a Davenport Firefighter's family who is going through the unimaginable.

The youngest member of the Downing family, 2-year-old Brooks, was first diagnosed with cancer this past spring. Despite surgery and treatment, the cancer has since spread throughout his brain and spine.

Sadly, there is no cure. As his parents prepare for the unthinkable, they are also burdened with mounting medical expenses.

Raising Funds

The Davenport Association of Professional Firefighters is hosting a special fundraising event for the Downings at Iron Tee Golf on October 25th from 11am-3pm.

For $55/hr, you can rent a bay with 25% of the money going to the Downings. There will be a silent auction and raffles, as well as a closest to the pin competition.

If you can't make the fundrasier on the 25th, Iron Tee is honoring the 25% donation from October 26th through November 9th if you just mention "Downing Fundraiser" when you pay.

Cash donations can also be made to the GoFundMe set up to cover the financial burdens from the situation.
