Davenport Public Works Says Intersection’s Lights Out Because Equipment Struck By Gunfire
If you use Locust to get across Davenport, you've probably noticed the congestion around the Iowa and Locust intersection, because the lights are flashing red, meaning to use it like a stop sign.
Davenport Public Works shared on Facebook that the lights are out due to a shooting that occured Friday, October 9th at the intersection.
Officials say it will be a few days before the lights return to normal, because the controller and hardware were struck by gunfire.
I started looking and found that the city could speed up the progress and order this one from eBay. It's got free shipping, AND it'll be here in 3 days.
I mean, it looks pretty legit. The screen works and everything, they would just need a power cord.
Makes you wonder how many other city infrastructures have no backups, only waiting for them to break, or be shot.
