Christmas in the Village Returns With Two Nights of Festive Fun In Davenport
A beloved holiday tradition is back in the Village of East Davenport, and it is bigger, brighter, and merrier than ever. Christmas in the Village celebrates over 50 years of holiday cheer, December 5 & 6, Friday and Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., offering two evenings packed with family activities, live entertainment, treats, and visits from your favorite Christmas characters. If you cannot feel the holiday spirit here, you might just be the Grinch.
Holiday Magic Lights Up the Village
Visitors can stroll the beautifully lit streets and explore festive happenings throughout the Village. On Saturday night at 9:00 p.m., everyone is invited to look up as the “Winter Sparkle” fireworks show lights up the sky. Talk about ending the night with a bang.
Meet Santa, Scrooge, and the Whole Christmas Crew
Santa will be greeting children at the International Fire Museum, while more characters stroll the area, including the Grinch, an Elf, Frosty, and even a festive reindeer. Scrooge will also make appearances from the balcony above BREW, probably still trying to pretend he is not having fun.
Free Activities, Food, Entertainment, and More
Families can enjoy trolley rides behind Camp McClellan Cellars, meet adorable animals at the petting zoo, and watch an ice sculptor show off amazing skills. Businesses throughout the Village will offer treats and activities, from free mulled wine tastings to ornament making and even free chili and fresh hot apple cider. Musical performances will fill the air Saturday as Share DeKeyzer and her students sing Christmas favorites live from the porch of Mary’s Diamonds & Jewelry.
With more surprises still to be announced, the Village of East Davenport Association and its small businesses are ready to make this year unforgettable. This is one holiday tradition worth bundling up for.
