Buy Your Own Deathmobile Right Here In The Quad Cities
It was one of the biggest movies of the late 70s, following a trouble-making fraternity that continues challenging their college's dean.
National Lampoon's Animal House was and is a movie with some huge names attached to it. Harold Ramis, John Landis, John Belushi, all jumped in on the project together that is now regarded as one of the greatest and most influential comedies of all time.
At the end of the film, Dean Wormer was happily able to expel the Delta Tau Chi members from the college after horrible grades continued against his warnings. So, to get back at him, they teamed up to ruin the college's annual homecoming parade.
They hid an armored car, known as the Deathmobile inside of a cake-shaped-float, and wreaked havoc on the parade, driving through parade floats, throwing smoke bombs, and at the finale, running over the judge's stand where Dean Wormer is hanging out.
A Quad City Area man created the Deathmobile to take to car shows in the area. Fully functioning, Ron DeArmond drove the Deathmobile to local car shows to display his work of art.
After some time, showing the car, and winning an award for Best Movie Car at the 2003 QCCA Expo Center Car Show – Lights, Camera, Action, Ron has made the decision to sell the car, and move on to the next project.
The car was built from a 1974 Lincoln and could be yours for just $20,000.
Ron's Deathmobile has plenty of attention to detail, with two operating escape hatches, and the car is even licensed and inspected by the State of Illinois, making it a street-legal ride.
