LoPiez moved into their building on 3rd and LeClaire in 2019, and have been giving back to the community ever since their opening. One way they give back is by selecting a local artist of the month, and donating 10% of the proceeds from a special edition pizza.

This month they're supporting the Davenport Central Marching Blue Devils with The Marching Blue Diablo. It's got pepperoni, onions, green peppers and jalapeños, with their signature red base.

Owners Andrew and Peter Lopez were a part of Central's iconic marching band, which they say prepared them for a music career that led them to Denver, and helped build a base at LoPiez.

The Marching Blue Devils have quite the record in the last few years. Since Director Alex Wilga took the reigns, the band has had multiple performances at Lucas Oil Stadium at the Music For All Grand Nationals event. They've been selected to represent Iowa in the Washington D.C. 4th of July Parade, as well as countless grand-champion placements at multiple regional competitions. The average season hails thousands of hours of rehearsal on the field rehearsing music, drill, and color guard routines.

The band program has to fundraise constantly, because although they bring the most trophies home out of all of the school's extracurricular activities, they receive no funding from the school for the marching band. The money the school does give them is a minimal amount that covers the cost of a few instrument repairs a year.

Head over before January is over and support the oldest band program west of The Mississippi.
