The Quad Cities’ Favorite DIY Candle Bar Makes Two Major Announcements
Buttercupp Candles has become a local favorite in the last couple of years, both for their locally made line of candles and their one-of-a-kind Candle Bar, where you select the scents, pour your own candle, and name your creation.
Now, they've made two major announcements in one day.
First Announcement
Owners KC and Jennifer Cupp took to Facebook to announce that of their two locations, one is moving to a bigger space.
Currently located inside Grasshoppers Gift Shop in LeClaire, Iowa, the location has shared space with the gift shop, but as they've expanded, they've needed a larger storefront - which is exactly what they're doing.
The store is staying in LeClaire, but moving across the street.
The Cupps explained that the new space will be able to accommodate larger parties and more people for their candle bar.
KC said the new LeClaire store is expected to open this fall and will be located at 429 Cody Road, LeClaire.
Second Announcement
Another exciting announcement was the opening of a brand new third location in Bettendorf - near the TBK Bank Sports Complex.
The location is part of a new building being built in front of the TBK Bank Sports Complex along Forrest Grove Road.
The brand new Bettendorf location is expected to open this fall.

If you haven't been, Buttercupp's Candle Bar is the perfect spot for a date night, girls' night out, or even birthday or bachelorette party stops.
Now is when you channel your inner artist, and create your label. Don't judge Hairball too hard here. He said he "failed elementary art class" and "doesn't pretend to be anything he's not."
Next, it's time to add your smells to the hot wax. You're in total control, so it's up to you to decide what ratio you get to pick. If you want more of the "Cashmere Cedar" than the "Frosted Donut," you can do exactly that.
After two minutes of stirring, it's time to pour your now-scented wax into your wicked jar.
And that's it! Easy as can be, you'll have time to hit up one of the great restaurants around either location before it's time to come pick up your candle.
When you come to pick up your candle, it'll be ready for you in a decorative bag.
You can enjoy this experience for less than $20, and you can even choose to create wax melts if candles aren't your thing.
Buttercupp Candles currently has two locations open, and both locations sell their own brand of candles as well as the Candle Bar:
- 208 N. Cody Road LeClaire, IA
- 3201 Avenue Of The Cities in Moline, IL
Check them out soon, and if you're planning on the Candle Bar, you best reserve your spot ahead of time, because they've been busy.
OH! And alcohol is welcome, so if you want to sip wine with the gals while you create your home's new scent, you can.
