The news has finally come out, after two weeks of uncertainty, the Vermilion County Bobcats have officially ceased hockey operations.

After rumors began spreading last week that the team was folding, the confusion came to a head after the Quad City Storm traveled for a game where the home team, the Bobcats, didn't show up in their own stadium.

This morning, the news fans have been expecting since Sunday came from the team's Twitter page.

Hockey fans are beginning to reply to the tweet, sharing their thoughts of the way the situation was handled. "This was so predictable from the start. It was regrettable that the Dashers' ownership wasn't local, nor were they willing to let locals take it over," Aaron Parrish wrote. "But the Bobcats very existence was always doing the wrong thing for the right reasons."
