$2 Million Winning Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Bettendorf
It may not have been the jackpot ticket but a winning ticket from the huge Mega Millions but a ticket sold in the QC had a hefty win on it.
According to the Iowa Lottery, the $2 million winning ticket was bought in Bettendorf, at Big 10 Mart at 999 Middle Road. For perspective, across the country, there were only six Mega Millions tickets sold that won that prize level.
The ticket that was bought in Bettendorf apparently matched all of the five white balls from Saturday's Mega Millions drawing but didn't match the Megaball, to initially win a $1 million prize. But the buyer opted for the Megaplier (smart decision), which made the winning $2 million.
Big 10 Mart will also get $2,000 from the lottery for selling the winning ticket. There's no word yet on who the lucky cat is that won it but it must be claimed at the Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive.
The Mega Millions drawing had 4 more winners in Iowa, each winning $10,000. Those tickets were bought in Newton, Storm Lake, Manchester, and Mount Pleasant.
The Luck of the QC
This summer has been wildly lucky in the lottery for the Quad Cities. It seems like every week or two we have a new winner to tell you about. Last week, a man from Bettendorf won $10,000 on a scratch-off.
The month of June alone saw 5 lottery winners from the QCA. Look at these bright shining faces:
